'Voices' originally started in Summer 1995, so we're now in our 30th season! Over the years the choir has morphed through several iterations, and hundreds of girls have been members, taken part in weekly singing, with concerts around the UK and on tours abroad. We are now a small high quality vocal ensemble, often focussing on complex beautiful choral music, sometimes singing one or two to a part. Foreign ToursLike to travel? Each year, we go on a foreign tour as a choir - so far we’ve been on 25 tours! We've sung in France, Germany, Prague, Italy, Hungary, Malta and many many more! We've had the opportunity to sing in some amazing venues, including the Cathedrals of Barcelona, Siena, Florence, Brussels, Cologne, Budapest, Notre Dame Paris and St Mark's Venice. Here in the UK, we give regular concerts, and have sung in York Minster, St Paul's Cathedral, Canterbury Cathedral, Derby Cathedral, and many midlands venues. In August 2022: we had a wonderful time performing and sight-seeing in Vienna! Derby City Singers joined us on concert tour, singing in The Votivkirche, Peterskirche and Stephansdom. August 2023 saw us having a blast in Edinburgh, performing in some of the city's most notable churches as part of the Fringe Festival. August 2024 will see us performing in London. |
